TED Talks

Posted by Manish on March 12, 2009

I would like to recommend this site to all – http://www.ted.com
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. This site has a lot of videos on the presentations given by world’s greatest thinkers or entrepreneurs or actually anyone whose great ideas has contributed to the society positively.
This is the link to their RSS feed: http://feeds2.feedburner.com/tedtalks_video

The videos here are indeed knowledgeable and inspiring. Some of the interesting ones I’ve seen so far are from Bill Gates on Malaria and Education
Ed Ulbrich on How Benjamin Button got his face in the movie Curious case of Benjamin Button
Pattie Maes on Sixth sense (a MIT media lab project, this is quite interesting one)
Evan Williams on listening to Twitter users

Status Updates with Twitter

Posted by Manish on March 2, 2009

Twitter has evolved so fast since it started in 2006. I was not that interested in it until I watched the TED talk by its co-founder Evan Williams in

According to him its evolution was shaped by its user. Its users came up with the interesting ideas to use twitter.
Otherwise, what is there in twitter??? How could a site gain so popularity when the only content of that site is to write what u were doing that moment and within 140 characters. Twitter is the fine example that shows how simple ideas can be grown by the large community of users.
While there are so many ways and so many purposes twitter has been used for, I found my own use of twitter – Integrate twitter with different sites, in which I have my accounts and update my status at once in all the places. Yes, now I can update my status in twitter which updates my status in my facebook, msn, blogger, myspace and my homepages.

For this just download the widget at http://twitter.com/widgets
To integrate with msn, see http://blogs.msdn.com/giorgio/archive/2008/05/11/windows-live-messenger-twitter-addin-with-setup-and-source-code.aspx
